Enhancing realistic AR optical system technology
Founded in 2018, Hongyi Opto-electronic is located at Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. The Company has been dedicated to the technology of AR optical systems, and has gained extensive expertise and technologies in the design of core optical system, manufacturing, intelligent and automated assembly of optical components. With dozens of core patents, Hongyi Opto-electronic has recently initiated mass production of AR optical modules, commencing in early 2021.

Currently, in addition to its Headquarters in Ningbo, Hongyi Opto-electronic also has a 1000/100-class dust-free production workshop in Yancheng, covering an area over 2,000m2. The Company has passed ISO9001 Quality System Certification and has complete production, assembly, and testing capabilities. The processes of material feeding, cleaning, drying, and transportation are stable and orderly. Dispensing, curing, testing and components production are completed in one-go. Surface mount, vacuuming, and inspection are performed with precision and efficiency. Inspection, observation, and recording make the initial appearance of the product module prominent. The manufacturing process is scientific and efficient, allowing for flexible response to different customer needs. The level of automation in manufacturing is continuously improving, enabling efficient and energy-saving intelligent and large-scale AR/VR optical module production.

Currently, Hongyi has applied for over 30 patents, out of which over 20 have been granted. Hongyi is the company in the industry in China to adopt first the concept of polarized light folding and have launched a linked focusing solution for AR module.     Design of special surface shape
    The Company actively explores and researches in the field of special surface shapes. Some of Hongyi's product modules have achieved significant performance improvements by applying free-form surface shapes or Fresnel surface shapes. Free-form surface shapes will bring greater degrees of freedom for performance improvements, especially in terms of high image quality and low distortion, offering significant advantages. On the other hand, the application of Fresnel surface shapes not only enhances image quality but also significantly reduces weight, making it particularly advantageous for lightweight applications.

    Hongyi has rich experience in free-form surfaces and other surface types, and has summarized a complete set of optimization design ideas. It can quickly realize the design and ensure the manufacturability of free-form surfaces to meet practical production requirements.

    In the BB solution, various polarizing filters and film coating techniques are used. Understanding the imaging path helps us avoid stray light in design to improve the user experience.


    Polarization characteristics are utilized to eliminate stray light/light leakage.

    Based on the polarization characteristics of light, adjustments are made to control stray light and light leakage. This effectively solves the problems of stray light and light leakage while ensuring the optical characteristics and energy utilization efficiency of the module.

    The Company has an experienced expert team in thin film technology, with members from well-known domestic thin film manufacturers such as Shengbo, Yongxin, and Exciton.

    The Company possesses the technology and equipment for key compound film processes and is capable of conducting compound film adjustment combining with actual needs of the module.

    Based on the experience of mass production scale of 100K and above and design experiences of over ten product modules, the Company has perfected and optimized a set of optical design and analysis programs consisting of tens of thousands of lines of code, to be able to accurately convert customer requirements into actual products.

With excellent capabilities in the development of automation equipment, Hongyi can quickly build customized, flexible, and high-precision automated production lines based on the characteristics of customer's products and production capacity requirements. Hongyi can quickly develop mass production process and testing plans, supporting the rapid mass production and market launch of customer's products.

Hongyi designs and utilizes a series of automated processing equipment and tools, achieving low-cost and high-efficiency manufacturing capabilities. The diagram shows the operation status of some automated equipment.

Testing platform

Hongyi adopts a binocular measurement system to quickly measure core optical parameters (FOV, distortion, MTF, binocular image uniting, brightness), ensuring product quality without affecting production efficiency.

Self-developed testing data

Hongyi's self-developed data platform enables quick measurement and recording of core parameters in the production process. It can trace the corresponding unique source code and provide real-time feedback for each core process, supporting scientific management of production quality.
